| dc.description.abstract | Abstract This research examines how communications fit into the field of scientific discourse as contiguity effect indigenous communities with conqueror from European countries, along with the desire of colonialism, as well as its development during the Old Order (Orde Lama), New Order (Orde Baru), to find its form as a scientific discipline as it is now. By analyzing the discourse and power relation related to the study of communication, especially in texts that later researcher for the phases, researcher focused on one question: how the power / knowledge related to development of studies and science of communication discourses in Indonesia. Using Foucauldian genealogy, this study shows that there is a relation between the study of communication, as science, related to disciplinary practices communications by the state. Both were running with close proximity, have mutualism on each era. At the beginning of the colonial moment, communication entry into the field of science was based on the motives of colonial rationality to recognize the inlander subject, which at the time had a different mode of communication, the communication subject mode kawula-gusti. The studies motive led to the disciplinary practices of the subjects inlander to acquire a new rationality related communication practices. Post-independence, and the discourse of the modern state of Indonesia becomes sturdy, communication studies has remained at the same level. Communication studies legitimized with the formation of "Ilmu Penerangan" hereafter "Ilmu Komunikasi", running a package of communications disciplinary practices used by the Order of the ruling (Old Order and New Order) as engines of social engineering to subdue subjects people. This study also outlines how the linkage studies and Communication Science with the capital levels and the absence of Marxism in the curriculum as a effect discursive of turmoil in 1965, and intimacy study of communication and Communication Science with the market. | |
