| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT Since the emergence of interactive media anyone can become a producer, distributor, and consumer message. This led to the spread of information becomes out of control, including in groups Whatsapp graduate students. In fact, not infrequently disseminated information led to unrest in society. Media literacy is increasingly important to master. This study aims to look at new media literacy skills students hoax spreading information, and the knowledge and motivation to spread the hoax information. Phenomenological method used to explore the activity of media awareness of the students when disseminating information. The results showed that the literacy skills of new media hoax two students disseminators of information in this study is very low and the people do not have any media literacy skills. Factors that are found is the lack of knowledge about media literacy and nformation hoax, is not critical in the face of media messages, level of need informed, and lack of social responsibility in their interaction.
