<title>Urbanization and regional imbalances in Indonesia</title>
<link>http://digilib.fisipol.ugm.ac.id/repo/handle/15717717/21072</link>
<description>Urbanization and regional imbalances in Indonesia
Wilonoyudho, Saratri; Rijanta, R.; Keban, Yeremias Torontuan; Setiawan, Bakti
The level of urbanization that occurred in Indonesia at this time is remarkable that causes the growth of cities very rapidly. The growth of cities is mainly due to various reasons such as the capitalization process, regional enlargement/reclassification, as well as migration from rural to urban. The growth of cities leads a lot of problems like environmental degradation, traffic congestion, poverty, crime and other social conflicts. Such a rapid rate of urbanization is a reflection of the inequity between rural and urban development. Lack of employment opportunities in the village causes the population to go into town to find work. The imbalance of development that occurs is a result of implementing a liberal economic system that only emphasizes growth, while on the other side of the agricultural sector is not paid any appropriate attention. The farmers are at a very weak and do not have a good bargaining position, with the exchange rate is very lame. Even regarding with the foodstuffs such as rice, wheat, sugar, salt, etc., Indonesia has to import from abroad. The imbalances of development do not only occur between rural and urban, but also between Java and the outside of Java, and between western and eastern Indonesia regions. This imbalance should be found a solution, with good management and equitable development, including the political will to reform the economic system in favor of the Indonesian people.

<title>Elderly Care</title>

<description>Elderly Care
Sumini, Sumini; Sukamdi, Sukamdi; Pangaribowo, Evita Hanie; Keban, Yeremias T.
Elderly care services are important to provide in response to the rapid growth of the elderly population. In developing countries like Indonesia, the speed of growth of the elderly population does not simultaneously occur, so the needs for care services vary. This study discusses the emergence of home care services in response to the increase in elderly population. By taking the case of community home care services in Sleman, this study found the pattern and process of the emergence of local initiatives in home care services. This study also revealed an important factor affecting the implementation of community home care services, that is, leadership. © 2020 Sumini et al.

<title>Sustainable food agriculture land protection policy for Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia</title>
<link>http://digilib.fisipol.ugm.ac.id/repo/handle/15717717/21069</link>
<description>Sustainable food agriculture land protection policy for Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Anggalini, T.D.; Retnandari, N.D.; Yuliani, K; Keban, Y.T.; Mulyo, J.H.
Climate change has an impact on the environment, especially in agriculture. Climate change which caused the emergence of extreme weather led to declining agricultural productivity or crop failures in several regions. Some areas of Gunungkidul are the most difficult areas to plant rice compared to other regencies/cities in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The issue of agricultural land conversion is a problem for almost all countries in the world that are difficult to resolve as development increases. Different policies are implemented to minimize the adverse effects of the conversion of agricultural land in various regions of the world. One of the policies that applied in Indonesia is the policy of Sustainable Food Agriculture Land Protection or Perlindungan Lahan Pertanian Pangan Berkelanjutan (PLP2B policy). Until now, this policy was slowing the movement in Indonesia, including in Gunungkidul. This article aims to analyze the performance and dilemma of this policy in Gunungkidul. Qualitative research with case study approach had been done and data was collected through documentation or literature study, observation, in-depth interviews and Forum Group Discussion. The results showed that PLP2B policy has not been optimally implemented and still become a dilemma to local government rather than become a solution.

<title>Policy adoption process on climate change adaptation</title>
<link>http://digilib.fisipol.ugm.ac.id/repo/handle/15717717/21067</link>
<description>Policy adoption process on climate change adaptation
Lestari, N.; Kusumasari, B.; Susanto, E.; Keban, Y.T.
This study aims to explore the process of policy adoption related to climate change adaptation. Specifically, this paper is based on the literature review process of scientific articles to map the definition of adaptation to climate change that is developing, then the forms of the policy adoption process that have been carried out. This study is exploratory in nature with the knowledge and determination of research topics that are still open. The researcher chose 2 keywords as emphasis, such as "climate change adaptation". AND "policy adoption". Sources of research use secondary data from tracing and collecting scientific articles indexed by Scopus. 35 of 659 articles were filtered and analyzed. Researchers use the Scholarly website, connected paper and VOSviewer to help analyze data. The study found that there is a knowledge gap between mitigation and adaptation. Adaptation is different than mitigation. From the results of mapping scientific articles, it can be concluded that discourse related to the adoption of climate change adaptation policies, the discourses that are often discussed at the academic level most of the 2006-2019 studies are mostly street level organizations, strategies, vulnerability indicators, tourism sector, mitigation, policy environment, barriers, maladaptation, policy context, society.
