Abstract
ABSTRAC The reporting of sexual violence on women in the Merapi Newspaper is not just reporting sexual violence that impinge on women alone. Text payload therein position the male is the subject while women into objects, thus forming the unequal position of men and women. The dominant position of this man who had made it still felt gender bias. Bourdieu viewed this phenomenon as symbolic violence, violence that is subtle, invisible. This practice is done so that the dominant position remains with men. This study was attempted to see how your discourse symbolic violence in reporting the sexual abuse of women in the Koran Merapi. To find out this research using the method of critical discourse analysis to dissect the fabric of the text, cognition, and social Merapi newspaper.
