Abstract
Abstract The working relationship between businessman and labour is a complex relationship. These conditions take place in rural industries like industrial district Wiroko press tile. Labour relations in the industrial district allows a variety of patterns of social relationships can grow and flourish between businessman and labour. This study aims to determine the pattern of social relations that developed there and its impact for businessman and the labour. This study is an ethnographic study that took place in the center of the tile industry press, Wiroko Village, District Tirtomoyo, Wonogiri, Central Java Province. Primary and secondary data is the type of data used by researchers. The object of this study is the social relations in the labour relations of businessman and labour, so that businessman and labour subject is selected by using purposive. Data collection techniques used include participant observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Data processing techniques based on the groove gradually advanced research or The Development Research Sequence (DRS) by Spradley. This study found that there is some kind of a working system that is used as a mechanism for regulating labour relations between businessman and labour include : daily work system, borongan or contract, freelance and family (not paid). Note also, the work system becomes a means of developing a variety of patterns of social relations is woven by businessman and labour. This study revealed the existence of various patterns of social relations in the working relations of bussinesman and labour include social relations of exploitation, social relations patron clients and patterns of social relations based on familial and kinship. Social relations of exploitation manifested by the existence of a borongan or contract system, where there is a process of moving the burden from businessman to labour, excessive working hours, and the risk of workplace accidents for the fulfillment of targets or workload. Social relations embodied in the patron client system that is applied daily work there, especially just the labour involved or receiving money or debt loans from businessman. Meanwhile, social relations based on familial and kinship appears with the involvement of businessman and his family members as unpaid labourers who work or duty like other workers in general. The impact of these relationships there are two positive or negative or beneficial as well as detrimental to businessman and labour of their various social relations. For businessman, positive impact of social relations of exploitation, as well as the patron-client basis of kinship is woven to support business continuity. While the negative impact to businessman is not always gain or benefit businesses because hiring labour, specifically with certain conditions because of the relatively old age and their interests as a celebration and community service. In addition, the negative impact especially for entrepreneurs as well as a family labour (unpaid) are experiencing self exploitation.The positive impact of the labor in the presence of various patterns of social relations such as exploitation, patron client, familial and kinship is a guaranteed job. Meanwhile, the negative impact of labour is to be borne by those who exploited. Specialized in social relations based familial and kinship, the family labour (unpaid) are experiencing hidden exploitation. Keywords : working relationship, working system, social relationship
