Abstract The purpose of this research is to answer and analyze in more depth about the various efforts made by India in building domestic capacity for this. The development of domestic capacity, will be used by India as the power to negotiate and cooperate both bilaterally and multilaterally with the countries in ASEAN. Deeper analysis to map the various sectors of strategic cooperation and investments India, which can be achieved in the ASEAN-India cooperation. In addition to strategic cooperation, India also has to face many challenges, both coming from the domestic as well as from some Asian countries also have close cooperation with ASEAN. For India, the ASEAN-India cooperation is also part of the Indian strategy to be able to re-connect and improve its bargaining position with the countries at the level of international cooperation.
