ABSTRACT Span of 1995 to 2001 were summit of villager as a gold miner. Economy factor has been villager as hard worker. After 2001, the gold content decrease gradually, and villagers especially for landowner who has gold content decide leased by comers. The participation of new comers created problems for Kalirejo village. Villagers who have more capital chose to invite workers from region outside based on their skill. The number of miners from region outside create horizontal and vertical conflicts occur directly or indirectly. Vertical conflict caused by mining permit. While horizontal conflict caused by river pollution. This study has 2 reasearch question. First, how was the dynamics conflict include its resolution happen, for vertical and horizontal conflicts in Kalirejo village. This study reveal the dynamics and search the positive side of conflict by Lewis Coser. Theory of conflict by Paul Werh used in this research, such as Specify the context, identify the parties, separate causes from consequences, separate goals from interests, understand the dynamics, the search for positive functions and understand the regulation potential to read the conflict entirely. This research using qualitative descriptive analytic and collective case study as a strategy. The result in this research that vertical and horizontal conflict have positive side. The actors conflict between vertical and horizontal were not too different. The roots of this conflict in Kalirejo is conflict over resources and lack of productive economic policies from local government. Vertical and horizontal conflicts resolution have significant differences, the concept of the triangle of statisfaction read the phenomenon of post resolution. because vertical conflict resoluiton put negotiations as the key, whereas horizontal conflicts resolution seem overly dominated by local elite or top down.
